Threshold

As we gain new perspectives through our daily experiences, we continue to change little by little. Small realizations and choices accumulate along the way, eventually leading to greater change. Beyond that threshold lies a landscape different from what we knew before.

The title Threshold represents the feeling that arises at the moment we cross that boundary—not a dramatic transformation, but a subtle yet undeniable sense that something has changed. The piece reflects the hesitation before taking that first step and the new landscape that begins to unfold beyond it.

Built around a simple modern jazz framework, the piece leaves space for each performer to express themselves freely through improvisation. Over a steady foundation, sounds born in the moment overlap, interact, and evolve, tracing the passage of time through the performance.

在日常经验中获得新的视角，我们也一点一点地持续改变。过程中累积的细微察觉与选择，最终可能带来更大的转变；跨越那道界线之后，眼前也会展开与过去不同的景色。

《Threshold》这个标题，描写的正是跨越那道界线瞬间所产生的感受。并非剧烈的改变，而是一种细微、却无法忽视的“有些什么已经改变了”的感觉。作品描绘了踏出改变第一步之前的犹豫，以及跨越之后逐渐展开的新景色。

乐曲以简洁的现代爵士框架为基础，保留空间让每位演奏者透过即兴自由表达。在稳定的基础之上，当下产生的声音彼此交叠、互动并持续变化，借此描绘演奏中流动的时间。
