歌词描绘了飓风、雷暴等自然现象如何塑造山脉和丘陵，大自然的每个行程都十分神奇而且每一个元素的参与都缺一不可。
中间有一段念白说我每天带著各种工具前往“后院的山”，暗示人类试图控制和改变自然的。然而，可笑的是相比于大自然的塑造力量，人类的力量拥有的不过就是“抛光的技巧”。

每天，我都会去拜访后院的那座山。我带著：铲子、铁锤、水桶、炸药、加厚工作裤、安全帽、口罩、靴子、锯子、防护手套……还有一堆其他工具。
晨露与细雨细心地打磨著剩下的石头。我们或许以为自己在雕塑山丘，但请记得——我们拥有的，只是打磨的技巧。
