Light seeps through slitted blinds.
Footsteps fade behind.
I trace the dust upon the pane,
I never lift the latch to gain.
Down below the street shifts restless pace,
Long shadows stretch through outer space.
I keep my tone held to my own,
I won’t reach out for what’s unknown.
The world follows its course,
I hold the source in my heart
Cool air brushes the sill’s edge.
Rusted bolts hold firm and hedge.
Fingertip rests against the pane,
No urge arises to explain.
Far and wide the dusk unfurls,
Slow‑drifting light across the worlds.
Out beyond this framed confine,
All commotion passes by design.
The world follows its course,
I hold the source in my heart
