老天的玩笑

这首曲子《老天的玩笑》是在讲述一个少年从美好的早晨就开始倒楣的故事，先是上完厕所发现家里没卫生纸，一路倒楣到没带伞在雨中跑回家时，看见暧昧对象跟别人亲亲我我，共撑一把爱的小伞。曲中表达了少年的情绪，从哀伤转变为不理解自己今天怎么那么倒楣而气笑了，接著因为坏事发生太频繁转变为愤怒激动，最后是直转直下满满的无奈及哀伤。
曲子加入唢呐，表达出哀伤的低吟；板鼓、小钞表达出隐约的躁动；通鼓表现出焦躁愤怒的情绪。

The piece "A cruel twist of fate" tells the story of a young boy who experiences a streak of bad luck starting from what seemed like a beautiful morning. First, he realizes there's no toilet paper after using the bathroom, and his misfortunes continue throughout the day. The worst part comes when, caught in the rain without an umbrella, he runs home—only to see his crush sharing a romantic moment with someone else under a single love-filled umbrella.
The music expresses the boy's shifting emotions: from sadness to bewilderment at his terrible luck, which eventually turns into ironic laughter. As misfortunes pile up, his frustration grows into anger and agitation, before finally collapsing into sheer helplessness and sorrow.
The piece incorporates the suona to evoke sorrowful laments, while the ban gu and small cymbals create a subtle sense of restlessness. The tong gu is used to convey the feeling of anxious rage.
